The following is part of a report made in 1826 on Mills and Manufactories in Delaware County.
On Darby Creek, in Haverford Township as ancient grist mill and saw mill, head and fall about 10 feet to which 2 feet more may be added. Owned by Elisha Worral and operated by Thomas Steele, grinds from 12,000 to 15,000 bushels of grain, grist and merchant work per year.
On Darby Creek, in Haverford Township a mill seat, head and fall about 12 feet on lands of Mordecai Lawrence. Also a saw mill, head and fall 10 feet 6 inches, owned by M. Lawrence and occupied by John Richards cuts about 20,000 feet of lumber a year.
