Print, Photographic - Haverford Public School No. 5 - Class Photo (1897)
Haverford Public School No. 5 was located on the south side of Buck Lane. It served the neighborhood north of Haverford College, including the Preston subdivision (both sides of Preston Avenue and the north side of that block of Buck Lane). In 1968 this photo was published in a newspaper and a reader, David Hamlet of Haverford, had been a young student in the photograph. Students are identified on the reverse side of the photo.

Haverford Seminary #2 1846 - Built near the corner of Steele Road and Eagle Rd. in Bon Aire. It rests on the footprint of an earlier school called Edgewood. The school burned in 1879 and the students moved across the street to a new school, now a private home on Eagle Rd.
