Description |
Native American axe head, stone, 5" l x 3" w at base. Has 3/4 groove, finely smoothed, no distal edge damage, flat proximal end. Possible hammer-like or maul-like wear. Light damage on one hafting element/shoulder. One face has possibly purposeful single pitting. Medium size, similar found at Savich Farm Site with Savannah River points (contrating stem broadspear hafted bifaces). Heavy duty woodworking, axe and possible maul use.
